Intelligent use of solar power for hot water preparation The AC ELWA 2 is a 0–3,5 kW linearly controlled water heater for grid-connected photovoltaic systems and is the successor to our proven AC ELWA-E. To maximize the self-consumption of your existing PV system, the AC ELWA 2 uses the system's excess photovoltaic energy to heat your water. This increased energy independence also provides protection against unforeseen or rising operating costs. The PV feed-in power can be reduced to zero thanks to the linear control. Our proven optional hot water backup function is included in the AC ELWA 2: If solar radiation is insufficient, energy from the public power grid can be used to heat the water to the desired temperature. The heating element's output is linearly controlled, so that virtually no energy is fed into the grid and your self-consumption is maximized. The connection to the router is made via a patch cable or wirelessly via WLAN. AC ELWA 2 in combination with battery storage AC ELWA 2 is compatible with many commercially available battery storage systems. It takes into account the optimal use and prioritization of photovoltaic energy. The battery storage system is always charged first. Once the battery is full, the AC ELWA 2 takes over storing the excess photovoltaic energy in the form of hot water. Water is the most economical form of storage and can be perfectly combined with chemical batteries. In this way, the generated electricity stays with you and is not fed into the grid. AC ELWA 2 in combination with Smart Home Thanks to its open-system control, the AC ELWA 2 also communicates with standard smart home and energy management systems. Control is managed by the smart home system. This allows for the implementation of complex control systems with prioritization by consumers. In residential buildings, systems with multiple devices work together on this basis.
