Description Original color lithograph from the Le Cirque Suite printed in 1967 on Arches paper, hand signed in pencil by the artist and numbered 24 out of the very small edition of 24 impressions. This dreamlike composition captures Chagall’s poetic fusion of love and the circus world. In the foreground, a tender couple – a red haired bride in profile, embracing a dark-haired groom in blue attire – gaze intently at one another while holding a vibrant multicolored bridal bouquet between them. Above, a bold red canopy arches like a circus big top, evoking the magical atmosphere of the ring. In the ethereal background, faint outlines of acrobats, musicians, and performers float, adding to the whimsical narrative of Chagall’s iconic circus series. The entire series of 38 lithographs that make up the suite was printed at the renowned Atelier Mourlot in 1967 and published by Tériade Éditeur.
